Galatians. Read it sometime. Galatians is all about freedom, not political freedom, but freedom and sonship in Christ. It talks about the purpose of the Law, "Why the Law then? It was added because of transgressions..." (Gal. 3:19). It talks about the perversion of the gospel, "But even if we or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what has been preached to you, he is to be accursed!" (Gal. 1:8) This is pretty strong language Paul uses here, and he repeats himself I might add.
But what caught my attention in Galatians was Ch. 4-5: Sonship in Christ, and walking by the Spirit. Chapter 4 starts out kinda dreary by saying we were helpless in bondage by things of the world (4:1-3). Then the mood changes a bit. There are several places in the Bible that myself and a few others like to call the "But God" passages. These are such incredible passages! There is one in Galatians 4:4-5 (there is another in Ephesians 2), "BUT when the fullness of the time came, GOD sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons." What an amazing thing! At just the right moment Christ came into the world. "Therefore you are no longer a slave, but a son; and if a son, then an heir through Christ" (4:7). Over in Chapter 5 Paul says, "It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to the yoke of slavery" (5:1). If Jesus is your Lord and Savior, then you have freedom!! And we don't have to go back to the slavery of sin: immorality, impurity, idolatry, disputes, etc. (5:19-20). We can be better than those things through the blood of Christ and by walking by the Spirit. But we can also replace the things that enslaved us with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, etc. (5:22-23).
So why are we still such an immoral society!? Why aren't we living differently than those who do not have Christ!? And how are they going to come to know Him if we aren't living out what we say we believe!? Don't want to see America go down in immorality? There is a solution, "If we live by the Spirit, let us also WALK by the Spirit" (5:25). Live your life according to the gospel; speak up and defend the freedom that you have in Christ, because there are many people that DO NOT HAVE the freedom that you have. Don't keep it to yourself!

A Small Tweak
I've been thinking, and I'm going to change the way I write my posts. I'm going to directly tie the Word of God into the topics and what I say. Basically, my posts will revolve around a passage in the Word instead of just tagging a verse or two onto my topics. Look for my next post soon!

Isn't it difficult sometimes?
Ever found it hard to be thankful for government sometimes? I find it hard a lot of times. All the immorality that is being committed in our country, and a select few people wanting to make it all legal by amending the constitution. That is why I'm so passionate about Christians standing up for their faith and praying for a godly Christian man to be raised up to lead this country. Sometimes that does not happen, but the Lord knows what he is doing.
Remember Romans 13, "Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves" (vs. 1-2). God puts rulers in place by his perfect ordinance. Even though we may not be pleased with some of the people in government, it is our responsibility as Christians to respect the governing authorities. We need to live our lives in such a way that even the rulers of will see the light of Christ in us. John Piper caught my attention with these thoughts.
So are you thankful for government?

The Only Evangelical Christian Candidate Just Got Better
Wow! Gov. Perry has been my choice from the start anyway, but he has slipped so far behind because of poor debating skills and some campaign problems. But if what he says in this article is true, the he is BY FAR the best candidate to be president. I also like Rick Santorum, but I wish Gov. Perry had published this months ago so people could have seen it early on. He is also the ONLY Evangelical Christian in this race (Ron Paul claims on his website to be, but if he is, he hides it in public and that's not something we want in the president). The "war on Christianity", as Perry describes it, is a real thing. And this is a man that would fight it, and stand up for the values of the Bible. I fear it may be too late though. Read this article by Rick Perry.

The Stereotype
You know what bothers me and frankly, offends me? The way the media stereotypes my age group, twenty-somethings. We are all viewed as supporting liberal agenda and thinking liberally about social issues. I was watching a town hall that Rick Santorum was at in New Hampshire and the discussion of gay marriage came up. I think this town hall was a perfect example of why people stereotype my age group. Here is the video (notice how Santorum OWNS these questions). And thanks to the "Occupy" protestors, this stereotype has gotten worse.
You NEVER see a twenty-something on the media as a conservative. I think there is something wrong with that. Either the media is corrupt (oh wait, it is) or no conservative young people are speaking up. PLEASE speak up! PLEASE take a stand! If you are a twenty-something DO NOT let them stereotype you!

Only 8?!
Santorum's surge was incredible. Even though Mitt Romney won the caucus by only 8 votes, Rick Santorum is the one who deserves the attention. Nothing could be more than a win for the Senator. Unfortunately, Michelle Bachmann and Rick Perry are on their way out. And Newt Gingrich is probably going to step up his attacks on Mitt Romney for New Hampshire, which will hurt Mitt's campaign. And Ron Paul will most likely stay in until the last possible moment despite his numbers, as usual. Here is a more in-depth assessment.
As for me, Rick Perry and Michelle Bachmann were my favorite candidates. But it looks like they will just divide the votes if they stay in too much longer. I hope this doesn't turn into another 2008 election, with the votes divided. Conservatives should rally behind one candidate. So as for me, go Santorum 2012!
